I have been thinking of a type of game related to the forum games people make now.
First off everyone can join no matter when you join, but you must join in a group. A group of people may even join in an event(not that I recommend you to do so). The only thing is if you are extinct you stay extinct. You must find a time when it is the perfect place for you to evolve.
If you start in the beginning you have glucose which gives you time to properly evolve your creature and make it adapt easier, but this means you have to endure the events a lot more. If you start too late you might be out competed easily or die in an event nearby.
In this game you don't make votes on which mutation, but a place, behavior etc... giving you the mutation randomly. The votes will use the verticle gene transfer format and some times you can even get 3 mutations at once. Please note that I am not very scientific about the mutations. If I know the term I will use it, but if I don't I'll make it up and if a person knows the term I will edit it.
Example:
Persons vote: spin its rear or stretch the cell. I want my highest chance of a mutation is a flagella
Name Species thingy: 5
Vote: Spin it's rear
Mutation: flagella
Description: This cell has started to stretch it rear or back giving it a flexible tail or flagella. This species has also started contracting and expanding. Maybe this species can further use this to specialize it.
Cannot find spoiler tag but will be the mutations:
-Contracting and expanding
-Flagella
Behavior format:
1 Opposite of what was intended
2 Slightly worse than what was intended
3 No effect
4 No effect
5 As intended
6 Better than intended
Mutations you received:
1 - The resulting mutation will be completely opposite effect than the one asked for
2 - The mutation will have a slightly deleterious effect on the creature
3 - No effect
4 - The mutation partially succeeds
5 - You get exactly what you asked for
6 - You get an even better mutation that the one you asked for
Mutation chances:
1 - -1
2 - 0
3 - 0
4 - +1
5 - +1
6 - +2
Note: You can get 6, but sometimes you may not get your desired mutation
Rounds:
